And so it comes down to this: our final Halloween episode. This week we’re covering Rob Zombie’s contributions to the franchise, Halloween (2007) and Halloween 2 (2009). Both follow the basic story of the franchise while adding a whole lot of that trademark Rob Zombie flair. Get ready for crazy characters, filthy dialogue, and a whole lot of redneck rock-n-roll carnival weirdness!

We’re still on Halloween this week, this time discussing Halloween H20: 20 Years Later and Halloween: Resurrection. These are two very different movies, the former marking a return to the tone and characters that made the original so effective, while the latter is just pure zaniness. We have a lot of fun with both in their own way, and we hope you will too!

We’re finally back to finish our Halloween series! Halloween III: Season of the Witch is a very unique installment in the series, completely dispensing with Michael Myers and attempting to establish an anthology format. We discuss this film’s importance to the Halloween series and horror in general, and we also tie it in to current events! There’s a lot of horrible things going on right now, please stay inside and watch films with us, and listen to us attempt to deal with this new reality!

Did anything big happen this past week? We haven’t really been paying attention. Oh…
In this episode we cover the effects of the ongoing coronavirus pandemic on the film industry and movie theater industry, and discuss our plans for a near future without movie theaters, all while trying not to cry. We also discuss the brilliant film The Invisible Man, which we managed to catch before they closed the theaters, and which will soon be available on demand. Stay safe out there folks, there’s many more movies ahead!

We have a whole grab bag of new releases this week, and it’s a fairly chaotic collection. We first touch on Birds of Prey and the Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn, followed by several mid-grade horror films: The Lodge, Blumhouse’s Fantasy Island, and Brahms: The Boy II. Matt even tells about his encounter with one of the elusive Brahms Bros in real life! All this and lots of drinking on this week’s installment of Buzzed on Movies!

We blaze through several movies and almost as many drinks this week, covering Marriage Story, The Cave, Bombshell, Underwater, and Dolittle. The last of these gives us some genuine problems, though still nothing on the level of Cats. Come run the gauntlet with us as we get ever closer to achieving our Oscars goal!

This week we discuss two very different movies that are excellent in their own ways: Uncut Gems and Little Women. We also go over the Oscar nominations, our picks, and our ongoing struggle to see all the nominees. And for some reason Return of the King comes up a lot. Go figure.

About Us
We're a couple of former projectionists who still enjoy practically living at the movie theater even though we don't work there anymore. We believe that movies are about the communal experience, sharing what you love and not getting too hung up on what you don't. We also believe there's no better way to share our love of movies than over a couple drinks, and we hope you'll come along for the ride!
