Episode 58 - I Like You (V/H/S)
Friday Mar 12, 2021
Friday Mar 12, 2021
This week we’re rewinding all the way back to the year 2012, to the heyday of the mumblecore movement, to discuss anthology/found footage horror film V/H/S. If there’s anything we love more than found footage horror, it’s found footage horror that’s also an exploration of one of our favorite physical media formats. It’s a gritty, grainy, gory good time!

Episode 57 - Not Another Truss Bridge Movie (Drive Angry)
Thursday Feb 25, 2021
Thursday Feb 25, 2021
So last week got us so pumped up for late 2000s 3D cinema and the works of Patrick Lussier and Todd Farmer that we just had to follow up with 2011’s Drive Angry. Of course this film boasts the incomparable talents of Nicolas Cage, but there’s a lot else to like: a no-nonsense demon, violent 3D dismemberments, huge explosions, a combination gunfight/sex scene, and pod favorite Tom Atkins. And Todd even gets naked again. What more could you ask for? Hop in the car with us, and let’s Drive Angry!

We’re back on the horror beat this week, this time reviewing both the original 1981 My Bloody Valentine and the 2009 3D remake. There’s much discussion of the merits of the RealD era of 3D film and 2000s horror remakes, as well as more unexpected subjects like the Miner 49er from Scooby Doo. We also ultimately decide that there’s no place we’d rather be than hanging out in the small mining town from My Bloody Valentine (1981), chugging Moosehead beer and grilling food on a car engine, so go figure as to our mental state. Come with us and delve deep beneath the surface of these movies, and watch out for explosive gas!

Episode 55 -The Maximum BAC (Another Round)
Friday Jan 22, 2021
Friday Jan 22, 2021
We’re truly in our element this week, reviewing Danish film and likely foreign language Oscar contender Another Round (aka Druk). Watch us as we follow these high school teachers attempting to maintain a slight level of inebriation while we attempt to maintain our own BACs. We also opine briefly on recent news regarding the Snyder Cut of the Justice League movie, because why not? I think we need another drink!

It wouldn’t be the holiday season without some insane Christmas romcoms, and this week we have quite the pair. Vanessa Hudgens is rapidly growing her own cinematic universe of this kind of holiday fare over at Netflix, so we decided to choose The Knight Before Christmas and The Princess Switch to get us in the holiday spirit. And by holiday spirit we certainly don’t mean that creepy old man who hangs around the Christmas market in Belgravia. These films have hot cocoa, baking, binge-watching, and royalty, but most importantly they have all the Vanessa Hudgens you could ever ask for. Stick around to hear our thoughts on a few other Christmas movies, including the new Hulu gay holiday romcom Happiest Season!

Friday Oct 30, 2020
Friday Oct 30, 2020
We’re so sorry, Uncle Robert…
This week’s film is really something. We’re joined this week by Dan and Brian from The Goods (www.thegoodsfilmpodcast.com), and we discuss a very unique piece of Amazon Prime low budget horror fare: Robert (2015). This may actually be the worst film we’ve ever reviewed on the podcast, but we manage to have a lot of fun with it. And wouldn’t you know it, there’s also a whole rabbit hole of sequels to explore. Robert giveth, and Robert taketh away. Come explore the Robert Cinematic Universe with us!

Episode 52 - Quib Eye
Tuesday Oct 27, 2020
Tuesday Oct 27, 2020
You know we had to do it to em. If last week’s episode was king size, this one is bite size. A quick bite, that is. That’s right, we’re talking about Quibi this week: all of our favorite shows as well as some non-favorites, as well as our thoughts on the shortcomings of the format. We also talk about our quest to watch as many horror movies as we can during October, and about the extended Night of the Living Dead universe. Come, have a quick bite with us!

Episode 51 - Suck Me to Hell (Drag Me to Hell & The Poughkeepsie Tapes)
Wednesday Oct 14, 2020
Wednesday Oct 14, 2020
We are back for another king size Halloween movie episode. This week we’re talking two very different kinds of horror: Sam Raimi’s bloody and gooey Drag Me to Hell and the almost too real cult found footage film The Poughkeepsie Tapes. Join us as we wax nostalgic about the internet and horror in the mid 2000s, fall further down the Saw and Dr. Pepper rabbit hole, and get ready for another spooky Halloween season!

Episode 50 - We Speak for the Dead (Saw Series Marathon)
Friday Sep 04, 2020
Friday Sep 04, 2020
We thought we were done with Saw but it turns out Saw wasn’t done with us. On this very special 50th episode, we attempt what was hitherto thought impossible: watching all eight Saw movies in one massive marathon. You’re along for the ride as we give our reactions to each movie, as well as recap our ever declining mental state as we struggle to make it through. There will be crying, there will be singing, and oh yes, there will be blood.

We’re back with a vengeance! This week we delve further into Rock of Ages (2012), and what makes it such a magical object of obsession. We also encounter a demon who lives in your phone with Countdown, and a reluctant half-vampire who is also the world’s most boring teenager in Cirque du Freak: The Vampire’s Assistant. For once, we’re not the only freaks around. Come get freaky with us!

About Us
We're a couple of former projectionists who still enjoy practically living at the movie theater even though we don't work there anymore. We believe that movies are about the communal experience, sharing what you love and not getting too hung up on what you don't. We also believe there's no better way to share our love of movies than over a couple drinks, and we hope you'll come along for the ride!
