A huge mea culpa on the delay on this episode. Jigsaw had nothing to do with it this time, but equipment failures and moral failures did. At long last, the film we (and hopefully many of you) have been waiting for - Spiral: From the Book of Saw! There’s puppets, shards of glass, and maybe even one of the key drops we love so much. This film is a blessing for us Saw diehards who have been waiting so long, so crack open a Dr. Pepper, put on your pig mask, and get ready to spin like a Spiral!

We’re once again way behind the times, but here is our long awaited Oscars Wrap-Up! We review the remaining movies we haven’t covered (and yes, we saw them ALL!), and discuss a very unusual year for the Oscars ceremony. And of course we get off track and end up discussing Blumhouse Fantasy Island (2020) for awhile. It’s truly broken us. Spiral: From the Book of Saw episode coming soon!

It’s our last episode before the Oscars ceremony, and we still have so far to go! At least one of us will basically be living Oscars movies for the last week. In this episode we discuss Trial of the Chicago 7, Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom, One Night in Miami, Sound of Metal, Over the Moon, Greyhound, and all of the documentary features. We’ll wrap up the rest of the nominees after the ceremony, but be sure to follow our twitter on Oscars night for updates on our ongoing mental states. See you at the Oscars!

We sure had a lot on our plates this week! We continue to plow through the Oscars movies, as we touch on several of this year’s contenders. This includes Hillbilly Elegy, Nomadland, Mank, Shaun the Sheep: Farmageddon, Eurovision Song Contest, and Onward. We also discuss the Saw franchise (of course), the possibility of podcasting out of the back of a hearse, and our ever expanding alcohol collections. And one of us went to an actual movie theater for the first time in a year! Pop open a bottle of Midori, and get ready to hear some hot takes on this year’s Oscar field!

Despite the advice of our doctors, we’re doing it again: it’s time to kick off the Oscars Death Race. We will be attempting to watch all nominees in all categories, and giving you our thoughts on what we watch as we go along. This week we’re talking about Wolfwalkers and Promising Young Woman, as well as anticipating which films we think may give us some trouble. And just for good measure, we also talk about horror film Saint Maud and the dreaded Snyder Cut. Come ride with us on this insane journey as we attempt what could be our most difficult Oscars Death Race to date!

This week we’re rewinding all the way back to the year 2012, to the heyday of the mumblecore movement, to discuss anthology/found footage horror film V/H/S. If there’s anything we love more than found footage horror, it’s found footage horror that’s also an exploration of one of our favorite physical media formats. It’s a gritty, grainy, gory good time!

So last week got us so pumped up for late 2000s 3D cinema and the works of Patrick Lussier and Todd Farmer that we just had to follow up with 2011’s Drive Angry. Of course this film boasts the incomparable talents of Nicolas Cage, but there’s a lot else to like: a no-nonsense demon, violent 3D dismemberments, huge explosions, a combination gunfight/sex scene, and pod favorite Tom Atkins. And Todd even gets naked again. What more could you ask for? Hop in the car with us, and let’s Drive Angry!

We’re back on the horror beat this week, this time reviewing both the original 1981 My Bloody Valentine and the 2009 3D remake. There’s much discussion of the merits of the RealD era of 3D film and 2000s horror remakes, as well as more unexpected subjects like the Miner 49er from Scooby Doo. We also ultimately decide that there’s no place we’d rather be than hanging out in the small mining town from My Bloody Valentine (1981), chugging Moosehead beer and grilling food on a car engine, so go figure as to our mental state. Come with us and delve deep beneath the surface of these movies, and watch out for explosive gas!

We’re truly in our element this week, reviewing Danish film and likely foreign language Oscar contender Another Round (aka Druk). Watch us as we follow these high school teachers attempting to maintain a slight level of inebriation while we attempt to maintain our own BACs. We also opine briefly on recent news regarding the Snyder Cut of the Justice League movie, because why not? I think we need another drink!

It wouldn’t be the holiday season without some insane Christmas romcoms, and this week we have quite the pair. Vanessa Hudgens is rapidly growing her own cinematic universe of this kind of holiday fare over at Netflix, so we decided to choose The Knight Before Christmas and The Princess Switch to get us in the holiday spirit. And by holiday spirit we certainly don’t mean that creepy old man who hangs around the Christmas market in Belgravia. These films have hot cocoa, baking, binge-watching, and royalty, but most importantly they have all the Vanessa Hudgens you could ever ask for. Stick around to hear our thoughts on a few other Christmas movies, including the new Hulu gay holiday romcom Happiest Season!

About Us
We're a couple of former projectionists who still enjoy practically living at the movie theater even though we don't work there anymore. We believe that movies are about the communal experience, sharing what you love and not getting too hung up on what you don't. We also believe there's no better way to share our love of movies than over a couple drinks, and we hope you'll come along for the ride!
